🔄 IMAPSync Email Migrations
Transfer your existing emails from another hosting provider to WebHostMost using the built-in IMAPSync migration tool.
Before You Start​
Preparation:
- Create your Email account on WebHostMost first (see Creating Email Accounts)
- Have your old Email password ready
- Know your old Email provider's IMAP server details (usually in their Email settings)
- Backup important emails locally as a safety precaution
Time needed:
- Small mailbox (< 100 emails): 5-10 minutes
- Medium mailbox (100-1000 emails): 30 minutes - 1 hour
- Large mailbox (1000+ emails): Several hours or overnight
Keep your old Email account active during migration. Don't delete it until migration completes successfully.
Import Emails​
This option copies emails FROM another provider TO WebHostMost.
Step 1: Open IMAPSync Migrations​
- Log into Web Control Panel
- Go to Email Manager > IMAPSync Migrations
- Click IMPORT E-MAILS button
Step 2: Enter Source Information​
Fill in where your emails are currently hosted:

How to find old IMAP server:
- Log into old host's control panel
- Check Email Settings or Account Details
- Look for "IMAP Server" or "Mail Server"
- Contact old host support if unsure
Step 3: Enter Destination Information​
Fill in where emails should go:

| User | Select your new WebHostMost Email from dropdown |
| Authentication | Choose "Internal sign-in" (pre-selected) |
Step 4: Start Migration​
Click START MIGRATION button.
The system will:
- Connect to your old Email server
- Download all emails
- Upload them to WebHostMost
- Preserve folder structure
- Keep original dates and attachments
Monitor progress - the screen shows what's being transferred.
For large mailboxes, you can close this page. Migration continues in the background. Check back later to see completion status.
Export Emails​
This option copies emails FROM WebHostMost TO another provider (reverse migration).
Step 1: Open IMAPSync Migrations​
- Log into Web Control Panel
- Go to Email Manager > IMAPSync Migrations
- Click EXPORT E-MAILS button
Step 2: Enter Source Information​
Select which WebHostMost Email to export:

Step 3: Enter Destination Information​
Fill in where emails should be sent:

Step 4: Start Migration​
Click START MIGRATION button.
The system will:
- Download emails from WebHostMost
- Upload them to your new provider
- Create folders at destination
- Preserve structure and dates
Finding IMAP Server Information​
Common Providers​

For other providers:
- Log into their webmail
- Look for Settings or Account Settings
- Find IMAP or Email Client Configuration
- Get the server address
Troubleshooting​
"Authentication Failed"​
Problem: Wrong password or username
Solution:
- Double-check your password
- Verify Email address spelling
- Test credentials by logging into webmail
- Try again
"Connection Refused"​
Problem: Wrong IMAP server address
Solution:
- Verify IMAP server from Email provider
- Check for typos
- Confirm with provider support if needed
- Try again with correct address
"Timeout"​
Problem: Network or server is slow
Solution:
- Check your internet connection
- Wait a few minutes
- Try again
- Contact support if persists
Migration Seems Stuck​
Problem: No progress for long time
Solution:
- Large attachments take time
- Wait longer before judging
- Check internet connection
- Restart if truly frozen (30+ minutes)
Emails Not Appearing​
Problem: Migration completed but no emails visible
Solutions:
- Refresh Webmail page
- Check folder structure - emails may be in subfolders
- Log out and back in
- Try migration again - may need to be run twice for all emails
Best Practices​
Before migration:
- Create destination Email account first
- Test that you can access the old account
- Have current password for old account
- Backup important emails locally
During migration:
- Keep internet connection stable
- Don't close browser or turn off computer
- Wait for completion message
After migration:
- Verify emails appear correctly
- Spot check a few emails to confirm
- Test sending and receiving
- Keep old account active for a few days before deleting
