Learn How To Create & Restore Your Domain Backups Via The Web Control Panel

Quick Intro

The Create/Restore Backups tab in your Web Control Panel provides server-level backup capabilities for your entire account or specific domains associated with your control panel. These backups differ from those available via the Advanced Installer Hub, which supports domain-specific file backups.

Important To Know Before You Begin

  • Disk Space: Each backup consumes disk space on your account. Ensure you have sufficient space available for backups.
  • Backup Location: All backups are stored in the File Manager under the backups folder and can be downloaded. Backups are created as archives with the .tar.zst extension.

You can check your account statistics here to monitor disk space usage.

caution

We do not offer automatic system-level backup solutions. Backups can only be handled through CMS plugins or the Advanced Installer Hub.

How To Create Backups

You can choose to create backups for all domains associated with your Web Control Panel or select individual domains to fine-tune what you need to back up, such as DNS, emails, and files.

caution

If your disk space is filled up with over 65%, you won't be able to perform a system backup. You need to make sure it's either lower than 65%, or consider upgrading your plan to a higher storage option.

Steps to Create Backups

  1. Navigate to Files Management > Create/Restore Backups in your Web Control Panel.
  2. Select All Domains or Selected Domains and specify what you need to include in the backup.
  3. Confirm your selections and initiate the backup process.

Creating Backups

The backup process may take a few minutes, depending on the amount of data. You will receive a notification in the My Messages tab once the backup is complete.

How To Restore Backups

Restoring backups is straightforward, allowing you to quickly recover your domain data from previous states.

Steps to Restore Backups

  1. Navigate to Files Management > Create/Restore Backups in your Web Control Panel.
  2. Click Restore Backup.
  3. Select the preferred backup file to restore.
  4. Choose the desired Restore Options.
  5. Click Restore to begin the process.

Restoring Backups

You will be notified once the restoration is completed. Restoration time may vary based on the size of the backup.

note

If no backups are present in the /backups folder but you have previously downloaded a backup, you can manually upload it back into the /backups folder for restoration.
