Managing Domain Pointers

Learn How To Manage Your Domain Pointers Via The Web Hosting Control Panel

Quick Intro

After assigning your domain name to the Web Control Panel, you gain the ability to manage Domain Pointers. Domain Pointers allow you to point old domains to your new domain, simplifying domain management without the need for multiple domain assignments in your control panel.

For instance, if you previously owned mediaplanetgroup.com and have now switched to mediapla.net, but wish to manage their DNS settings separately, Domain Pointers make this possible.

Important To Know Before You Begin

You cannot use links from your new domain or any domain owned by another user of Web Host Most to create a pointer. For example, with a new domain like mediapla.net, you cannot use its links for the pointer setup.

How To Create Domain Pointer

To create a domain pointer, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to Domain Management > Domain Pointers > Create Domain Pointer.
  2. Enter the old domain name (the one you wish to redirect to your new domain).

Domain Pointer Setup

This feature is particularly useful for maintaining brand continuity or consolidating traffic from multiple domains. It ensures users who visit your old domain are automatically redirected to your new domain, seamlessly maintaining access and improving user experience.

Next Steps

Continue to manage your domains effectively using the Web Control Panel to ensure seamless transitions and consistent branding across your digital presence. If you encounter any issues or have further questions about setting up domain pointers, contact our support team for personalized assistance.
